In the spring of 1997, we were in desperate need of some time away. Since
leaving "the girls" behind was inconceivable, we packed Darby, Teagan
and ourselves and headed to Alexandria Bay (a main attraction among the Thousand
Islands between the US/Canada border) for a spur-of-the-moment Memorial Day
weekend. We found the area to be rather un-dog-friendly, and so spent the
entire time walking the state parks, fishing, and playing in a big, dandelion-filled
field (complete with pond and willows, stone walls, and split-rail fence)
near our hotel. Though we didn't have a trip filled with new experiences or
adventure, those few days and the images we captured remain some of our greatest
memories. Here, Teagan is shown in that big field watching her sister and
waiting for her to come close enough to tackle.
